To imagine what a city might be like is always a great job. In Hungary, after two brutal world wars and a revolution, not too many memories have survived. The Aquincum museum is in the best condition, well conserved walls, great information boards and a beautiful park. But let's face the fact: you are walking in mostly in a knee-lenght city. So it's notso easy to imagiene a bright and splendid city among the small ruins! That's why I love digital reconstruction: the original ruins are ins safe, but I can see the city in its original brightness and greatness.
Some say that the reconstructions do not necessarily reflect the original conditions. But I am just a single tourist of the past, I would be glad to see any possibilities! So come with me and let's see what Aquincum, the maic city of Pannonia Provincia might have looked like! All the digital reconstructions are the works of Ádám Németh.
